Healthy Shampoo Alternatives *giveaway*

by NL101 on July 14, 2010

When it comes to my body care products I always look for the most natural and pure items I can find. Now a days it seems that most shampoos, conditioners, lotions etc. are made from a concoction of chemicals that are dangerous for our bodies and our environment. To be honest, I can rarely find a truly natural product to use on me and my kids, and when I think I finally found something all natural, there is always two or three ingredients that I can’t pronounce that are clearly not natural. Very bothersome for this natural mama!

Then I found Veve’s Handmade…Totally natural, 100% pure, and made by the hands of a loving mother, Amanda. It’s clear that Amanda put a lot of love in her company and products by looking at her awesome shop on Etsy and by the quality of the Tea Tree and Rosemary Solid Shampoo Bar I received to review. It smells simply amazing; I could smell this yummy shampoo bar before I even opened my mail box. Rosemary and Tea Tree are a great combination to use together, not only for the way they smell together, but for how they work together as a hair care product. The Rosemary is therapeutic to the scalp and helps with hair growth, and the Tree Tree works to clean all the dirt and grease off your hair.

I have never used a shampoo bar on my hair and I was very curious to see how it works. I have tried the no-shampoo method by using vinegar and baking soda instead of shampoo and it didn’t work at all for my hair type (fine hair). My first experience was great using the shampoo bar; it lathered very very well and rinsed right out. When my hair was dry it had no fly aways and was soft and full of body (it actually seemed to give my hair lots of body). I’m very pleased with this product and I plan on using this from now on instead of shampoo. Finally a good alternative…

Veve’s Handmade Shampoo Bars and other body products are 100% natural and full of pure goodness from mother nature. Check out the ingredients in my Tea Tree and Rosemary Solid Shampoo Bar: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor oil, Jojoba Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil and Tea Tree Essential Oil! And that’s all…Works just as good as regular shampoo (if not better) and is 100% better for you. Veve’s Handmade is also cruelty free and every product she purchases has not been tested on our sweet furry friends. Check out some other cool products by Veve’s Handmade below.

Organic Body Butter *giveaway*

by NL101 on July 11, 2010

Anthology Organic Body Butter Cream

“Thoroughly whipped, our organic body butter has silky texture and feels like smooth cream. We hand-pour all of our skin care products, so each jar of body butter will have a unique surface appearance.”

Anthology Organic is a small company that specializes in making healthy, vegan and organic skin care products. Not only do they deliver a superb line of skin care, but they are a eco-friendly company. All of Anthology Organic’s containers to the labels are recyclable or recycled, and the ingredients they use are from farms that practice sustainable organic agriculture. Does it get any better? Yes…

I was sent the Organic Body Butter Cream Exotique to review and my oh my do I love this stuff. It’s not your typical body butter full of chemicals and fragrance, but a unique combination of carefully selected oils, butters and essential oils to moisturize and soothe your skin and help prevent aging. After three days of using this wonderful cream, my alligator skin (on my lower legs) is GONE! I’m not kidding either, my legs are so soft and silky it’s not funny (lol). I still have a very small amount of flaking, but that should fade away with a couple more uses. It’s obvious by my testimony that this body butter is effective, but why does it work so well? Because it’s made from the very best ingredients that are all raw and unprocessed, plus the genius recipe behind it makes an impeccable body butter that really really works. Did I mention it smells absolutely wonderful? It has a very light and earthy scent that lingers on my skin, and just like the Chakra Oils, my kids like to ‘sniff’ it (they literally sniff like little dogs it’s really cute) .

Make sure you check out their website too. Tons of awesome body products! http://www.anthologyplace.com/

Chakra Wellness Therapy *giveaway*

by NL101 on July 10, 2010

Chakra oils are made with 100% pure therapeutic grade organic and wild crafted essential oils that are infused with crystals. They are made with specific essential oils that resonate with each chakra. Each essential oil has its own unique vibration to promote wellness in the body. The essential oils work energetically and physically to help restore natural balance to the body. They smell wonderful! They are healthy, green and good for you!

What are chakras

Chakras are spinning vortices of energy located throughout the mid-line of the body. These energy centers become weakened from absorbing and transmuting energies from the universe, people and the planet. Renew and balance your chakras with essential oils that are specially designed to heal and energize the chakras.

Golden Earth Creations was founded by Elizabeth Golden with the purpose of creating “wellness” for personal care products and the people on our planet. Each and every essential oil blend at Golden Earth Creations is of the highest quality, and is organic and wildcrafted.

I have to say that I’m very impressed with the products I was sent to review. Golden Earth sent me their Chakra Oils and Perfumes from Nature.  I have been using the Chakra oils everyday, especially at night before bed to help calm me down after a busy day (raising three boys is HARD work). I love how the aroma immediately shifts my mood to calm and peaceful. As my youngest son is waiting for a liver transplant my life is a little crazy right now, and these oils are just what I need! Another really cool thing is that they are infused with crystals, so you get the healing energy transferred from the crystals into the oils which transfers to you for an even better experience. There are many uses for these oils- like for work when things get a little stressful, during your yoga class, for reading, and  for prayer/meditation.

I also got to review their Perfumes from Nature, and my oh my are these wonderful! I stopped wearing perfume years ago due to the chemicals put in them. What most people don’t know is that perfume is very toxic; it’s bad for your respiratory system and it’s bad to put on your skin. Imagine little babies breathing this stuff in when we wear it too…  Now I know that us girls love to smell pretty (especially the single ladies) and I’m happy to report that Mother Nature has us covered. Why use toxic chemical made perfume when you can use something so natural from the earth? Here is what Golden Earth says about their yummy perfumes:

Perfumes from nature are made with 100% pure organic and wild crafted essential oils.

They smell wonderful! They are healthy, green and good for you! They come from real plants that have their own unique vibrations to lift your spirit, balance your senses and much more…

Precious essential oils such as sandalwood, rose, jasmine, neroli and tuberose are some of the most treasured and revered oils in the world; for that reason they are also the most expensive. Golden earth perfumes from nature contain one or more of these oils in each of our blends. There are no synthetic fragrances or perfumes in any of our blends. Not one drop!

Good stuff! They smell so good too. I love to wear these and my husband loves when I wear them too. Even my boys like to wear them and sniff mommy, lol.

I’m so happy to share this review with you. I just love working with small companies who care about our planet and people. Make sure you share this review with your friends and family and help support such a wonderful company.
